Aberdeenshire bakery, Murdoch Allan, has obtained an alcohol license for their Peterhead store, allowing them to sell their own premium brand gin and vodka during the festive season.

The owners of the family-run bakery, Paul and Katrina Allan, launched Still Spirited last year, introducing their small batch Scottish gin and vodka to the market.

They are now celebrating the brand’s in-store availability after it previously only being available to order online.

The license, granted by Aberdeenshire Council, permits the shop on Chapel Street to sell alcohol between 10am and 3pm Monday through Sunday.

Paul Allan, Managing Director of Murdoch Allan and Still Spirited, said: “To be granted an alcohol license for our Peterhead shop is a great step forward for Murdoch Allan as we continue to diversify our product range.

“We are happy to now be able to sell both our brands in one place and introduce our bakery customers to our fantastic spirits.

Paul continued: “During the Christmas period, we encourage customers to pop into our Peterhead shop where they can order one of our Murdoch Allan Christmas hampers or purchase a bottle of Still Spirited gin or vodka – both make the perfect gift!”

Still Spirited’s award-winning tipples use only the finest locally sourced ingredients. The gin is infused with flavours of juniper, citrus, and spices, making it the perfect spirit for a winter cocktail.

The vodka is smooth and sweet with notes of toffee and vanilla, reminiscent of some of Murdoch Allan’s sweet treats.

The bakery has been serving the people of Peterhead for over 15 years. After making the difficult decision to close its café and move location in 2022, the shop has seen turnover double.

As well as Peterhead, the bakery has shops in Hatton, Turriff, Mintlaw, Fraserburgh, and Thains in Aberdeen.

Murdoch Allan products are also stocked in major supermarkets such as Asda, Aldi, Coop Local, Morrisons, and Sainsbury’s.

Still Spirited is also available to purchase in Murdoch Allan’s Hatton shop as well as online at stillspirited.co.uk.
