Food and drink industry suppliers across Scotland will have a unique opportunity to connect with public sector procurement teams and private sector buyers at the upcoming Meet the Buyer National event, scheduled for June 4, 2025, at BT Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh.

The free event, organized by the Supplier Development Programme (SDP) and now in its 16th year, represents Scotland’s largest annual procurement gathering, featuring over 65 public sector procurement teams, Tier 1 contractors, private sector buyers, and business support organizations.

For food and drink producers and suppliers, the event offers valuable networking opportunities and insights into upcoming projects and supply chain possibilities across multiple sectors. These sectors extend beyond food and drink to include construction, education, energy, and healthcare.

Participating buyers and exhibitors include high-profile organizations such as the Scottish Government, Scotland Excel, Crown Commercial Service, numerous Scottish Local Authorities, NHS bodies, educational institutions, and emergency services.

The event will also feature a dedicated NHS Health Zone, sponsored by NHS National Services Scotland and NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, among other health organizations.

Scottish suppliers attending the event will position themselves to potentially access a share of Scotland’s annual public sector procurement spend, which amounts to approximately £16 billion.

Registration is currently open via the Supplier Development Programme website, with attendance free for all suppliers. Participants will have the valuable opportunity to meet potential customers face-to-face and learn practical approaches for engaging with public sector procurement.

For food and drink businesses looking to expand their customer base and explore new market opportunities, this event represents a significant date for the 2025 calendar.
