Vovem, the Union Street steak restaurant forced to close after a kitchen blaze in September last year, will reopen to diners from 5pm on Thursday 6 November.
Fire crews found the building “well alight” during the incident, which caused significant damage to the rear roof and prep kitchen. Planning papers lodged with Aberdeen City Council indicated that those areas required reconstruction, while water damage in the main dining room needed remedial works. The overall repair bill was estimated at around £200,000. No injuries were reported.

The owners said they were “delighted” to be welcoming guests back after a year of restoration, inviting customers to return to the venue from Thursday evening.
