Harrison Leisure (UK) Limited has added the purchase of Ardlui Resort to their growing family business which now own and operate 11 parks across the UK, a property marketing by the specialist Parks team at Colliers.

The acquisition is the group’s second purchase through the firm this year, following the acquisition of Crofthead Holiday Park in Ayr earlier in January, and is a further sign of their ambitious growth plans.

Ardlui has been in the same family ownership since 1978 and has only previously been sold once in its 250 years of operation. The resort consists of a 96 pitch holiday park, a 12 bedroom hotel and 100 berth marina with additional moorings on the loch and was offered for sale due to retirement. It was marketed through a bespoke campaign with a guide price of offers over £7 million.

Richard Moss, Head of UK Parks Agency at Colliers said: “Adlui benefits from being set in an iconic and world-renowned location on the bonnie banks of Loch Lomond, which provides an incredible foundation for a holiday and hospitality business. We are delighted to have been able to assist the clients with their retirement plans and fully expect the Harrison Leisure to enjoy great success through the continuation of the existing business, alongside a programme of modernisation at one of Scotland’s best locations.”

William Harrison, director of Harrison Leisure added: “We are absolutely thrilled that Ardlui Holiday Park and Marina on the shores of Loch Lomond is now part of the Harrison Holidays family, it boasts a hotel, bar, restaurant, lodges, glamping and an incredible marina with watersports right on the loch. This one’s special. Truly breathtaking. This is the kind of place where families create memories that last forever.”

Brian Squires who purchased the hotel in 1978 added: “We’ve had a lovely life looking after this corner of the Loch and sharing it with visitors and guests. I’m pleased that this legacy will be continued by Harrison Leisure, who has the same attitude and ethos to looking after the area as we have. We wish them the best of luck for the future.”

The vendors were advised by Stirling Gilmour (Legal), Clements Chartered Accountants (Financial) and Colliers. The buyers were advised by Carters Law (Legal).
