Aberdeen’s culinary landscape is set to welcome a new entrant as Chilo’s, a purveyor of “family-style” dining, prepares to open its doors in the city centre. Signage has appeared for the new establishment located at the prominent corner of Union Street and Bon Accord Terrace, marking the brand’s first venture into Aberdeen.

The new restaurant will extend Chilo’s established presence, which includes multiple successful outlets across Glasgow, notably in areas such as Kinning Park, the West End, and Uddingston. The brand is recognised for its focus on bold flavours and freshly prepared cuisine, served from an open kitchen concept.

Chilo’s menu is primarily built around a selection of premium smashed burgers. These are crafted using grass-fed, free-range Aberdeen Angus beef, sourced directly from the UK, ensuring a commitment to local produce where possible. Complementing the burger offerings are various marinated chicken dishes and a range of house-made sauces.

The company characterises its culinary philosophy as “quality-driven,” aiming to deliver an experience described as “happiness in every bite.” This commitment extends to all food being cooked fresh to order, eschewing frozen ingredients.

Diners at the forthcoming Aberdeen branch can anticipate a diverse menu. Burger enthusiasts will find options such as the “Big Bang Burger,” “BBQ Ranch Burger,” and larger “King Kong” and “Godzilla”-style creations. Chicken-centric choices include the “Nashville Hot Burger” and a variety of peri-peri dishes.

Beyond burgers, the menu offers a selection of wraps, sandwiches, and rice boxes, including peri-peri chicken rice and Philly cheesesteak. Additional offerings extend to loaded fries, baked potatoes, and salads that can be topped with steak, chicken, or halloumi. Sides feature popular choices such as mozzarella sticks, onion rings, cheesy fries, and mac and cheese bites. For those with a sweet tooth, desserts include cookie dough, churros, and milkshakes.

The new Chilo’s location is designed to cater to a broad clientele, offering a dedicated children’s menu for families and providing dine-in, collection, and takeaway services.
