St Andrews-based independent distiller Eden Mill has unveiled a new interactive visitor experience that blends Scotland’s national drink with its most iconic sport, launching the ‘Pin It To Win It’ golf simulator challenge at its Guardbridge distillery.

Designed to capture the spirit of spontaneity and fun, the activation invites visitors to take three shots on a golf simulator for £10, with the aim of landing closest to the pin. The ultimate prize is a hole-in-one, with successful players winning their own Eden Mill whisky cask, filled on site at the distillery.

Even those who fall short of golfing perfection will leave with a reward. Players who land on the green receive an Eden Mill tote bag, those finding the bunker are given a golf ball, and out-of-bounds attempts earn a golf tee, dubbed the challenge’s “wooden spoon”. In addition, the closest shot to the pin each month will be awarded a bottle of Eden Mill’s single malt whisky.

Hamish Maclean, Senior Brand Manager at Eden Mill, said: “We wanted to create something spontaneous and genuinely exciting, the kind of thing you walk past and think ‘oh go on then’ and end up talking about for weeks. Owning a whisky cask is a dream for many, so we thought why not give our guests the chance to win one for a tenner.”

Positioned just minutes from the world-famous Old Course, the distillery’s latest offering is said to be the only experience of its kind in Scotland, combining immersive whisky tourism with the heritage of golf in St Andrews.

‘Pin It To Win It’ is available to all visitors to Eden Mill’s distillery visitor centre in Guardbridge, complementing its existing gin and whisky tours, cocktail bar, and blending experiences. Further details can be found at edenmill.com.
