The Dipping Lugger maintains five-star-gold Restaurant With Rooms status in Highland recognition.
The Dipping Lugger, a restaurant with rooms located in Ullapool in the north-western Highlands, is celebrating after retaining all four of its AA awards this week. The establishment successfully maintained its AA’s five-star-gold Restaurant With Rooms Award, three AA Red Rosettes for Culinary Excellence, and its Notable Wine List Award.

Additionally, the restaurant has been recognised with the AA Breakfast Award for the fifth consecutive year.
An AA Inspector commented on the 18th-century former manse, noting its transformation into “a wonderful restaurant with rooms offering the highest levels of service as well as hospitality backed up with a stunning dining experience.” The inspector also highlighted Ullapool’s seafood as a focus of the menu, stating: “Whether it’s lunch or dinner, tasting menus are the way to go – the choices changing with the seasons.”
Robert Hicks, co-owner of The Dipping Lugger, expressed his satisfaction with the continued recognition. He said: “We’re delighted that we’ve maintained our five-star Restaurant with Rooms Award, three AA Rosettes for Culinary Excellence, our Breakfast Award, and our wine list with a Notable Wine List Award. Recognition like this is really about every member of the team, from housekeeping to front-of-house and from pot wash to our chefs, and as a result Helen and I would like to say a big thank you to everyone in the team for all their help in making The Lugger what it is today.’’
