The 10-Year-Old Lowland whisky is inspired by autumn at Fife’s Cambo Estate.

Kingsbarns Distillery, located within the historic Cambo Estate in Fife, has launched “The Cambo Collection: First Edition,” a 10-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky. This inaugural expression will be available from 8 October 2026, with just 640 cases distributed across the UK and EU at a price of £65.

The Cambo Collection represents a new range of annual limited-edition Lowland single malts, each designed to explore a distinct aspect of the estate and the distillery’s connection to it. The “First Edition” reflects the character of Cambo as the estate transitions into the autumn season, having been matured in STR (shaved, toasted and re-charred) casks hand-selected by the Kingsbarns whisky-making team.

The distillery’s roots are firmly in the agricultural heritage of the surrounding land. Central to the distillery is its historic Doocot, built in 1800, which connects the site’s farming past with its current whisky production. Over the coming years, the collection aims to tell the story of Cambo through its estate, farming heritage, agricultural landscape, locally sourced barley, and Kingsbarns’ own evolution.

The “First Edition” offers tasting notes that evoke autumn. The nose presents baked apple, cinnamon, bramble jam, and blackcurrant, leading to a palate of warm cinnamon rolls, vanilla icing, plummy dark fruit, and baking spice. The finish is described as long and sweet, with cracked black pepper and lingering warmth.

Peter Holroyd, Distillery Manager at Kingsbarns Distillery, said: “Cambo is more than just the place where we make our whisky – it is part of its character. The fields, the farming heritage, the buildings and the landscape that surrounds us all contribute to the story we’re telling at Kingsbarns. For The Cambo Collection: First Edition, we wanted to give ourselves the space to explore that story properly, rather than trying to capture everything in a single release. Each year will reveal a different side of our home, while remaining unmistakably Kingsbarns. For our first bottling we wanted to capture Cambo as it moves into autumn. The STR casks bring richness, warmth and spice to our naturally light and fruity house style, creating a whisky that feels incredibly connected to the season and the place that inspired it.”

The product’s packaging draws inspiration directly from the East Newhall farm steading where the distillery is situated. A textured carton mirrors the Doocot’s physical character, with a die-cut aperture echoing its distinctive arched frames. A barley-gold label further acknowledges Fife’s farming and barley heritage.

James Erskine, Director, Cambo Estate, commented: “Cambo has a long agricultural history, and it’s great to see that heritage celebrated through The Cambo Collection. The old farm buildings have been lovingly restored and given a new purpose as part of Kingsbarns Distillery, creating a connection between the site’s agricultural past and its life today. This collection feels like a fitting tribute to that history and the character of the place.”

The Cambo Collection: First Edition, a 10-Year-Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky, is non-chill filtered and bottled at 46% ABV. It will be available through specialist retailers across the UK and EU, and directly from www.kingsbarnsdistillery.com.
