BENUGO has announced that it will open three locations at The Burrell Collection in Glasgow which is due to open on 29th March after a major refurbishment.

The Burrell Restaurant, The Burrell Coffee Shop and an Espresso Bar will all sit on-site at the A-listed home of The Burrell Collection in Pollok Country Park, Glasgow’s largest green space.

Phil Cass, Benugo Operations Director in Scotland, comments: ‘The Burrell Collection is such a landmark opening for Scotland and we are excited to be part of it.

‘We can’t wait to bring our impeccably sourced Scottish produce, delicious food, carbon neutral coffee and local West Brewery beers to a new audience.”

Duncan Dornan, Head of Glasgow Life Museums said: “The Burrell Collection will be a draw for millions of people in the years to come to spend a day looking at the beautiful artworks on display. They will want refreshments in keeping with the exceptional quality of the collection and its home. Benugo staff have been working hard preparing for the reopening of The Burrell Collection and have developed menus and meal options that will appeal to everyone and become another great reason to come into The Burrell Collection.”

The Burrell Restaurant will feature a breakfast menu with highlights including a Full Scottish with Robertsons of Ayrshire pork sausage, Ayrshire bacon, Linlithgow black pudding, tattie scone, Farmlay of Fraserburgh eggs, baked beans, tomato, and mushrooms; a Full vegan version will also be on the menu.

A lunch menu will feature Panko-breaded Campbells of Linlithgow haggis bites with Isle of Arran beetroot chutney, pickled cucumber and wholegrain mustard; Burrell beef burger with Ayrshire streaky bacon, melted cheese, red onion, iceberg lettuce, spiced burger sauce, and gherkins; a Pan-fried Scrabster cod fillet with lentils, crispy kale, tenderstem broccoli, parsley and caper dressing; and Homemade sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel sauce and Isle of Arran vanilla ice cream.  There will always be halal, vegan and vegetarian options available.

The Espresso Bar, Coffee Shop and Restaurant will serve Benugo’s 100% carbon neutral coffee; the coffee menu was created in collaboration with ClimatePartner for customers to see the carbon footprint of the most impactful hot drinks so they can make an informed choice, with all cradle to grave emissions offset into certified projects as part of a wider carbon reduction program.
