Speciality egg producer, Clarence Court, today announces the latest addition to its existing range of ‘fabulous eggs by fabulous birds’; the Burford Buff!

The beautiful pastel, light brown shell of the Burford Buff is the perfect foil to the plump, sunshine yolk that lies within. Burford Buffs enjoy a maize enriched diet that produces eggs with a rich and creamy flavour that glow with natural goodness. An ideal egg for all occasions, Burford Buffs are now on sale in Waitrose.

In 1928, Clarence Elliott brought his first birds over from Patagonia to Gloucestershire where they were crossbred to create pedigree hens. The combination of this unique heritage and 90 years’ experience in caring for hens, ensure Clarence Court birds enjoy the pinnacle of both health and welfare. The hens lay at their own natural speed giving the eggs a unique flavour evocative of a bygone era when all food was ‘slow food’.

Adrian Gott, CEO of Clarence Court eggs said:

“We’re delighted to welcome the Burford Buff into the Clarence Court range. With rising egg occasions from consumers during the week, the launch aims to add value to the category by capturing more spend on weekday egg occasions to the premium egg segment.

“Clarence Court already offers the widest range of eggs sold in Britain and the Burford Buff, with its rich sunshine yolk, will yet further enhance the range.”
