Antioch Turkish Restaurant in Dunfermline is ending the year on a high with the announcement that it’s now been named Best Turkish Restaurant in Scotland in the Scottish Asian Food Awards, for the past five years.

The Bridge Steet Restaurant has also been named Best Middle Eastern Restaurant in Scotland in the same awards, the first time it has picked up this accolade.

With Antioch open seven days a well, and offering both lunch and dinner, two new experienced chefs have joined the team to keep up with demand for the eatery’s signature Turkish dishes, such as Antioch Kofte Guvec, with Grilled Meatballs, Mediterranean Vegetables & Chickpeas, Karni Yarik, Aubergine Topped with Lamb Mince Special Herbs, Chickpeas & Tomato Sauce, and Kuzu Incik, Slow Cooked Succulent & Tender Lamb Shank.

Commenting on the latest awards for Antioch, owner, Nihat Oymak, who also operates Amorist Restaurant & Bar in the High Street, which is soon to have an 18 bedroom Hotel above it, said: “We are now demonstrating the most incredible track record in excellence in Turkish and Middle Eastern cuisine at Antioch. I am so proud of the whole team who continue to excel in all they do. To win Best Turkish Restaurant in Scotland five times in a row, is incredible. We couldn’t do it without the continued support of our amazing customers, as these awards are entirely based on their votes. I’d like to say a massive thank you to them from us all. We will continue to delight you with our food and hospitality.”

“Emin and Ercan, out two new chefs, are both welcome additions to the kitchen team at Antioch. We are delighted to have them join us in time for the festive season,” added Nihat.

The Scottish Asian Food Awards 2025 are organised by Oceanic Consulting – the UK’s leading ethnic awards company. Existing to recognise and reward a variety of Asian restaurants, takeaways and eateries across Scotland, the Scottish Asian Food Awards acknowledge that the Asian & Middle Eastern food industry is growing and diversifying year on year, with some outstanding businesses going the extra mile to contribute to its success.

Particularly, the event celebrated the achievements of businesses and individuals who connect communities through food and culture.

A spokesperson for the Scottish Asian Food Awards said: “We’d like to say a massive congratulations to Antioch on its five times in a row record. Our awards are designed to honour all varieties of Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine. Nihat, and his team, epitomise all that is vibrant about this sector.”

With 18 years of experience, Oceanic Consulting host annual award ceremonies in major English, Scottish and Irish cities. Campaigns include the Curry Awards, Asian Business, Asian Food, British Muslim, British Indian and Britain’s Asian Wedding Awards.

Nihat finished by saying: “We’re very much looking forward to launching the hotel above Amorist Bar & Restaurant next month. We hope that it will really attract many more people to come to Dunfermline, and see what we have to offer here.”

“Amorist Restaurant will be launching Afternoon Tea in January, another new development for the business that we are excited about.”

Antioch’s menu features a wide range of hot and cold meze starters, fish specialities, side dishes, and chicken & lamb main courses. It is currently offering a lunchtime menu at £14.95 for two courses.
