British-Indian vodka brand Desi Daru is raising a glass to a major milestone as it secures its first grocery listing, launching nationwide into 140 Waitrose stores from 9th November. The brand’s award-winning Alphonso Mango Vodka—crafted with the “King of Mangoes” from Ratnagiri in Maharashtra—is now available on shelves across the UK.

Founded in May 2023 by husband-and-wife duo Mohit Singh and Aneet Kaur, Desi Daru was born from their passion to blend two cultures into one exceptional spirit. Produced in Oxfordshire using English winter wheat, each batch of Desi Daru vodka is distilled seven times for smoothness and balance.

The brand’s signature Mango Vodka has achieved remarkable recognition in a short space of time, taking home titles including ‘World’s Best Flavoured Vodka’ at the World Drink Awards, ‘Best Flavoured Vodka’ at the Las Vegas Global Spirit Awards, and an elite 3-Star Great Taste Award—an honour earned by fewer than 2% of entries. It also achieved an outstanding 99 points at The IWSC, confirming its standing among the finest vodkas in the world.

John Vine, Spirits Buyer at Waitrose, said: “Desi Daru have received incredible international acclaim for their Alphonso Mango Vodka, even winning the coveted 3-Star Great Taste Award. We know that our shoppers are always looking for quality, and it’s undeniable that Desi Daru is quality. They are leading the way when it comes to premiumisation in flavoured vodka. We can’t wait to introduce our customers to Desi Daru’s Alphonso Mango Vodka.”

For co-founder Mohit Singh, seeing Desi Daru on Waitrose shelves marks the realisation of a long-held dream. “We had certain milestones in mind when we first started the business, and one of our biggest goals was to see our bottle on the shelves of Waitrose,” he shared. “We set out to create a vodka that celebrates our dual heritage— inspired in India, born in Britain— and to see it now sitting alongside some of the world’s best-known spirits is incredibly special. We hope Waitrose customers love it just as much as we do.”

The Waitrose listing caps off an exceptional year for the boutique brand, which has achieved B Corp certification, record-breaking sales growth, a viral social media presence, and widespread recognition for its sustainability-led ‘One Sip, One Day’ initiative. The campaign promises that every 25ml measure of Desi Daru Vodka provides clean drinking water to one person for a full day, with each bottle supporting access to water for an entire month.

Desi Daru Alphonso Mango Vodka is now available in 140 Waitrose stores nationwide at £39.50, with a special launch price of £33 running until 1st January 2026.
