Introducing Scotland’s First Official Tartan Army Pie by Brownings the Bakers
An Ayrshire family bakery, Brownings the Bakers, is celebrating the start of Euro 2024 with the launch of Scotland’s first official Tartan Army Pie. This new savory delight is being released just in time for the opening match of the tournament between Scotland and the host nation, Germany.
Crafted with a traditional Scottish beef mince and tattie filling topped with a flaky puff pastry, the Tartan Army Pie will be available across Scotland, including in Brownings’ six Ayrshire locations, starting Tuesday, June 11.
Brownings the Bakers has long been associated with Scottish football, especially due to their famous Kilmarnock Pie. They have now secured registered trademark status for the Tartan Army Pie, further cementing their connection to the sport.
John Gall, the managing director of Brownings the Bakers, expressed his excitement: “We’re really proud to kick off this year’s Euros with the launch of Scotland’s first official Tartan Army Pie. We wanted to create a pie that not only reflects the quality and heritage of our family craft bakers but also something that the nation could embrace as we support our national football team this summer.”
