Flat Iron has announced plans to open its first Scottish restaurant in 2027, bringing the brand’s dedication to remarkable, great-value steak to the heart of Glasgow. The two-floor, 120-cover restaurant will be located on West George Street, marking an exciting new chapter for the much-loved steak specialists.

The concise menu will centre around the namesake Flat Iron steak- a cut taken from the often-overlooked featherblade, celebrated for its flavour, tenderness, and juiciness when butchered with precision. Guests can also look forward to blackboard specials, including Wagyu daily offerings and a premium burger made using beef from the Flat Iron herd in Thirsk, Yorkshire.

Classic sides such as beef-dripping chips, crispy bone marrow mash, creamed spinach, and truffled macaroni cheese will complete the menu, while the drinks list will feature a handpicked selection of wines, draught beers, and cocktails. Highlights include Flat Iron’s own-label Malbec, blended by the team using grapes from the Limoux region in southern France’s Languedoc.

Set within a historic four-storey early Renaissance building, the Glasgow restaurant will take subtle design inspiration from both the building’s layered history and the city’s iconic School of Art. The space will stay true to Flat Iron’s warm and welcoming aesthetic, offering guests a comfortable yet refined dining experience.

Fred Smith, Flat Iron’s Head of Beef, said: “We’ve been serving beef from Scotland since the early days of Flat Iron. Opening a restaurant here is a proud moment for us. Our passion for high-quality, accessible steak is at the forefront of everything we do, and we are looking forward to sharing this with guests in Glasgow.”

Flat Iron Glasgow is set to open in 2027 at 85 West George Street, Glasgow G1 1XU.
