Glasgow’s OVO Hydro to host biggest World Cup watch party in Scotland

The OVO Hydro is set for this weekend’s big kick off and Scotland v Haiti with the full line-up and entertainment now revealed for Our Moment Live

this weekend the venue will be turned into the nation’s biggest fanzone when Scotland face Haiti in their opening group game of the FIFA World Cup™.

Doors open at 10pm on Saturday June 13, ahead of the 2am kick off on Sunday June 14, with a full programme of music and entertainment for Scotland fans.

The Hoolie in the Hydro house band, led by Gary Innes, will be on stage on the night as well as the legendary Dougie MacLean, singing a set which will include his Tartan Army anthem ‘Caledonia’, and Donnie Munro, who will be playing his hits, including ‘Loch Lomond’. Accordion player, singer and star of Britain’s Got Talent, RuMac, will also feature.

Fans can enjoy a range of family-friendly activities ahead of kick-off including a beat-the-goalie competition, face painting and more, as well as interactive football games and photo moments. 

Hosted by presenter Des Clarke and founder of The Big Scottish Football Show, Beth Wallace, the event will see all the match action shown live on the OVO Hydro’s 20-metre big screen, the biggest in Scotland, with entertainment helping to build an electric atmosphere ahead of kick-off.

An expert panel of pundits will also be on stage to give pre-match and half-time analysis, including broadcaster Rob MacLean and former Scotland defender, Charlie Mulgrew. 

A range of food and drink offers will be available on the night. Bierhall-style table seating inside the Hydro bowl will help create a vibrant atmosphere for fans.

Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity will be fundraising at Our Moment Live with a bucket collection, football games, and an exclusive raffle for ticket holders to get involved with.

A range of ticket offers are in place, including offers for groups and families and free tickets for chaperones attending with standard price child’s ticket. Designated drivers will receive a complimentary ticket and access to VIP hospitality parking. A new and reduced rate of £6.00 for 24 hours has also been introduced in the SEC multi-storey car park.

The stage is set and we can’t wait to welcome the fans this weekend.”

Tickets for Our Moment Live are still on sale. Further acts and experiences for the remaining group games will be announced in the coming weeks.
