A KILLEARN based shop and deli has launched Scotland’s first zero waste wine pop up just in time for Christmas.
Turnip the Beet, just off the West Highland Way, has added wine on tap to its zero-waste shop alongside its range of kitchen cupboard essentials.
The store is encouraging customers to bring their own container or hire a re-useable glass bottle.
Deli owner Laura Burt said: “So far the pop-up has been extremely popular. It’s great to be able to offer a service to our customers that encourages sustainable living and helps to minimise waste this festive season – no more overflowing glass recycling bins!”
She added: “You can bring your own bottle, flagon, keg or wheelbarrow to fill up with the wine of your choice or you can hire a bottle from us for only £1 returnable deposit.”

The wine being sold also comes from sustainable vineyards.
Laura said: “We’ve sourced an amazing range of unique and artisan wines from winemakers that have a strong focus on organic, vegan and biodynamic wines. Each supplier we source from is committed to reducing their waste and practicing the most sustainable grape growing and winemaking techniques. We are also using the UK’s only 100 percent reusable wine kegs.”
