THE Ploughman Restaurant and Sports Bar in Peterculter, Aberdeen, received accolades in the Scottish Parliament as Liam Kerr, Scottish Conservative and Unionist MSP for North East Scotland, commended its TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Award 2023. The parliamentary motion applauds The Ploughman’s achievement, noting its recognition among the top 10% of restaurants worldwide based on TripAdvisor ratings and reviews. A total of 30 MSPs, including Kerr, supported the motion. Alistair Dornan, co-owner of The Ploughman, expressed gratitude for the recognition, stating, “This truly validates the hard work and dedication of our team.”

The Scottish Parliament has given a nod to The Ploughman Restaurant and Sports Bar in Peterculter, Aberdeen, as it celebrates receiving a TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Award 2023. Liam Kerr, the Scottish Conservative and Unionist MSP representing the North East Scotland Region, submitted a parliamentary motion commending the establishment’s success. The motion specifically highlights that The Ploughman has been named among the top 10% of restaurants worldwide based on TripAdvisor ratings and reviews.

The motion reads, “That the Parliament congratulates the Ploughman Restaurant and Sports Bar in Peterculter, Aberdeen on winning a TripAdvisor Traveller’s Choice Award 2023; understands that the honour represents The Ploughman being named one of the 10% of restaurants worldwide; further understands that TripAdvisor recognises customer’s favourite restaurants around the world based on ratings and reviews; believes that customer reviews and ratings for The Ploughman helped secure the win, and wishes all The Ploughman’s staff continued success and repeat business in the future.”

This recognition holds significance as TripAdvisor’s Traveller’s Choice Award is a global acknowledgment, with The Ploughman being distinguished as one of the top-performing restaurants globally. The award is based on consistently high ratings and positive customer reviews, reinforcing The Ploughman’s commitment to providing an exceptional dining experience.

The accolade aligns with TripAdvisor’s practice of acknowledging customers’ favourite dining establishments worldwide, underscoring the importance of customer feedback in shaping the reputation of restaurants. In The Ploughman’s case, customer reviews and ratings played a pivotal role in securing the prestigious Traveller’s Choice Award for 2023.

A notable aspect of this parliamentary recognition is the cross-party support it received. The motion submitted by Liam Kerr garnered support from 29 other Members of the Scottish Parliament (MSPs), further emphasising the widespread acknowledgment of The Ploughman’s achievement.

Alistair Dornan, co-owner of The Ploughman alongside business partner Simon Cruickshank, expressed delight at the parliamentary recognition, stating, “We are thrilled to be recognised at the Scottish Parliament, and we extend our gratitude to Liam Kerr and the other MSPs for acknowledging our TripAdvisor award success.” Mr. Dornan underscored the significance of the recognition, considering it a validation of the hard work and dedication of The Ploughman’s team.
