A thief has stolen an eight-foot Christmas Nutcracker statue from outside one of Edinburgh’s most popular city centre cocktail bars.

The giant festive ornament was stolen from outside Copper Blossom on George Street at around 1pm on Tuesday 25 November.

The crime has been recorded on CCTV and footage shared with Police Scotland to investigate.

The Copper Blossom team is now calling for the festive statue named ‘Nolan’ to be returned and reunited with his fellow Nutcracker soldier ‘Nelson’, which together form part of the venue’s seasonal display.

Copper Blossom welcomes hundreds of customers to its George Street home over the festive season, offering a special menu of cocktails, sharing platters and Sunday roasts.

Every Christmas, Copper Blossom’s festive displays draw crowds of people looking to capture the perfect photos with family and friends to share on Instagram and TikTok.

Paul Paxton, General Manager at Copper Blossom on Edinburgh’s George Street, said:

“We put a lot of time, effort and expense into our Christmas decorations at Copper Blossom to create a spectacular winter wonderland for all our guests.

“Our Christmas Nutcracker statues take pride of place as part of our seasonal celebrations, so not only has someone stolen one of our favourite decorations, but they’ve also stolen the spirit of Christmas, too!

“We’re now calling on the culprit to return our Christmas Nutcracker ‘Nolan’ and restore our special touch of festive magic. If Nolan is returned in one piece, then no further action will be taken, but the culprit is definitely on Santa’s naughty list!”
