The Isle of Mull distillery features classic and limited-edition Tobermory and Ledaig expressions.
Tobermory Distillery is offering a collection of four whiskies for Christmas 2026, bringing together its bright, unpeated Tobermory style and the sweeter, smokier character of Ledaig. The distillery, which has been making whisky on the Isle of Mull since 1798, is one of Scotland’s oldest and produces two distinct single malts under one roof. The Christmas 2026 range includes the classic Tobermory 12 Year Old and limited releases from The Lores of Mull collection.
The Tobermory 12 Year Old, priced at £47, serves as the distillery’s signature single malt and an introduction to the fruitier house style. This rich, fruity, and unpeated expression offers an approachable character while maintaining the depth expected from a single malt. For those seeking a more limited option, Tobermory: The Whispers of Burg is a 13 Year Old Tobermory available for £90. Part of The Lores of Mull Collection, it is inspired by the folklore of Burg and finished in Amontillado sherry casks.

Bottled at 55.6% ABV, it features notes of honey, nuts, gentle spice, black liquorice, citrus, toasted oats, vanilla, and orange marmalade. From Ledaig’s smokier territory, Ban-fhàidh’s Rebirth is also part of The Lores of Mull Collection and is priced at £70. This whisky combines Ledaig matured in Bolgheri wine casks with spirit matured in Spanish Brandy casks. Inspired by an ancient seeress, it is bottled at 57.6% ABV and offers Hebridean smoke alongside dark fruit, warming spice, chocolate, roasted coffee, and toasted oak.
Both Lores of Mull releases come in illustrated packaging reflecting their island folklore. Further expanding the smoky options is Ledaig Castaway, retailing at £65. This expression combines rum and tequila cask maturation, a first for the brand, adding exotic depth to Ledaig’s peated profile. It is described as sweet, smoky, and robust, targeting drinkers who prefer richer, heavily flavoured whiskies beyond the core range.
The Lores of Mull is a limited-edition series drawing inspiration from stories passed down through generations on the island. Each release within this collection utilises either Tobermory or Ledaig, with cask selection chosen to complement the character of its accompanying tale. The Tobermory and Ledaig collections can be viewed at tobermorydistillery.com or purchased from retailers including Master of Malt, The Whisky Exchange, and The Whisky Shop.
