Cold Town Beer, based in Edinburgh, has recently undergone a significant transformation, unveiling a fresh new look along with larger cans as part of an extensive refresh. The brewery aims to share its story with drinkers through intricate design details that reflect its mission and history.
The name “Cold Town” is inspired by Carlton, or ‘Cauld Toon,’ in Edinburgh, where the first lager in Britain was brewed back in 1835. The new design not only showcases this historical connection but also introduces three distinct categories of beer offerings: the Core Range featuring staple brews, the Lab Range focusing on experimental brews, and the Co-Lab Range dedicated to collaborations with other brewers and breweries.
In addition to the rebranding, Cold Town Beer has increased the size of its cans from 330ml to 440ml, providing more beer for enthusiasts to enjoy. Louise MacLean, business development for Cold Town Beer, emphasized that the brewery’s dedication to craft, innovation, and community is reflected in the new look.
MacLean stated, “Our new visually unified look puts our story and personality at the forefront. This isn’t just a makeover; it’s a bold declaration of who we are and what we stand for.”
