Cairndale x Annandale

As part of this unique partnership, the Cairndale x Annandale Collection will feature a bespoke range of products infused with whisky and vanilla.

The first two offerings, the luxurious Angel’s Share Balm and the rejuvenating Reborn Smoothing Scrub, will be included in the Cairndale Spa’s signature treatments.

Guests will also have the opportunity to purchase these products to remember their experience in the South of Scotland.

Each product exemplifies craftsmanship, meticulously handcrafted by Claire Caddick, the founder of Tribe517, at her Welsh farm.

The formulations incorporate premium whisky from one of Scotland’s oldest distilleries, along with ingredients like vanilla and brown sugar.

This partnership marks a significant milestone for the Cairndale Spa, which aims to position Dumfries as a premier wellness destination in Scotland.

It is expected to be the first of several collaborations with local businesses, promoting the region’s natural beauty and hidden gems.

South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) has supported this initiative, contributing 20% of the funding for the new spa facilities and assisting with installing an energy-efficient heating system that reduces gas and electricity usage by up to 30%.

Matthew Wallace Jr., Director of The Cairndale Hotel and Spa, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration: “We are delighted to have been able to create this collaboration with Annandale Distillery.

“We have huge admiration for the way that they have carefully restored the distillery to produce incredible, premium spirits.

“To be able to work together, with the invaluable product development support of Claire Caddick and Tribe517, to create something so unique for our spa, that truly reflects the region, is incredible.”

Claire Primrose, Cairndale Spa Manager, added: “Our team of experienced spa therapists has now joined us and completed their dedicated Cairndale Spa training and they cannot wait to deliver these exclusive signature treatments to our guests.”

“The products smell divine and feel extremely luxurious, so we’re confident that our spa guests will love them as much as we do.”

Lee Medd, Head of Place Marketing, Tourism Development, and Events at Annandale Distillery, noted that this collaboration celebrates the craftsmanship of both brands and elevates guests’ sensory experiences to a new level of luxury.

He said: “The opportunity to collaborate with the Cairndale Spa on this unique partnership is an exciting celebration of craftsmanship and of the region of Dumfries and Galloway.”

Professor Russel Griggs, Chair of SOSE, said: “The aim of the recently launched South of Scotland Responsible Tourism Strategy was to make our region a ‘go-to’ rather than ‘go-through’ visitor destination, and to do so, we need everyone to work together.

“It is fantastic to see Cairndale Hotel and Annandale Distillery –  both of whom have been supported by SOSE – launching this partnership, which is to be the first of several the Cairndale Spa has lined up with local businesses and attractions.”
