Equi’s Ice Cream is celebrating its most successful year since 2019, scooping 11 stars at the 2025 Great Taste Awards, including a coveted 3-star award for its Hazelnut Brittle, its first 3-star triumph since 2017.

Widely regarded as the ‘Oscars’ of the food world, the Great Taste Awards are run by the Guild of Fine Food and judged by over 500 food and drink experts, including top chefs, buyers, food writers and retailers.

The 3-star award places Hazelnut Brittle among the top 1.5% of over 14,000 entries and now qualifies it for the prestigious Golden Fork Awards, which celebrate the very best food and drink in the UK and Ireland.

This year’s full list of Equi’s winners includes:
• Hazelnut Brittle – 3 stars
• Pistachio Swirl – 2 stars
• Pistachio & Sicilian Orange – 2 stars
• Double Cream – 1 star
• Strawberry Cheesecake – 1 star
• Pistachio & Balsamic Fig – 1 star
• Parma Custard & Vanilla Croquant – 1 star

David Equi, CEO of Equi’s Ice Cream, commented “To receive 11 stars this year, our best result since 2019, is a proud moment for the whole team, but the 3-star award for our Hazelnut Brittle is the real cherry on top.

“It’s the kind of recognition that reflects our relentless pursuit of flavour and craftsmanship. We’re thrilled to see it going forward to the Golden Forks.”

Great Taste judges heaped praise on the Hazelnut Brittle gelato, calling it: “A delicious gelato packed with crunchy nut brittle pieces, delivering an outstanding toasted hazelnut flavour.”

“Wonderfully silky and smooth, with a gorgeous, rich, roasted nut flavour… A really special gelato that is skilfully made.”

This marks the 10th consecutive year Equi’s has been honoured at the Great Taste Awards, cementing its reputation as one of the UK’s most consistently decorated ice cream makers. The company has now amassed a total of 80 stars since it began entering the competition.
