KOCHCHI Glasgow, the highly anticipated new Sri Lankan dining destination, has officially announced its opening date as Thursday 29 January 2026, with reservations now live and the restaurant’s much-talked-about menu revealed.
Bringing bold flavours, regional authenticity and contemporary flair to the city’s vibrant food scene, KOCHCHI Glasgow draws inspiration from the coastal spice routes and traditional kitchens of Sri Lanka. The menu showcases a carefully curated selection of dishes that celebrate fresh ingredients, layered spices and time-honoured cooking techniques, reimagined for the modern diner and designed for sharing, celebrating texture, and nostalgia.
Guests can begin with nibbles such as spiced cashew nuts and cassava chips, before moving into short eats – a cornerstone of Sri Lankan food culture – including cheese roti melts, hot butter squid and cauliflower, pork belly stack, fish cutlets, and Sri Lankan mutton rolls.

At the heart of the menu is Koththu, Sri Lanka’s iconic street food. Fresh flatbread is hand-chopped and seared on a hot griddle with vegetables and curry, available with roast chicken, black pork, or cauliflower. The curries and devilled dishes highlight depth and heat, featuring options of Colombo chicken curry, black pork curry, monkfish curry, crab curry, devilled chicken, pork, and prawns, alongside comforting classics like parippu (lentil curry).
To accompany, Kochchi offers traditional hoppers, roti, pãan, and rice, including classic and egg hoppers, egg roti, roast pãan, basmati rice, and fried rice, complemented by a selection of house Sambols, pickles, and signature Kochchi sauce.
The brunch menu (served 12pm–3pm) brings playful twists such as bacon hoppers, milk hoppers, and indulgent roast pãan options, alongside favourites like the Colombo omelette. Desserts keep things tropical and comforting with coconut pancakes, wattalappam, and gelato.
For the full journey, The Kochchi Experience offers a guided five-course sharing menu, taking diners through the flavours, stories, and nostalgia of Sri Lankan cuisine.
Designed to offer both intimate dining and lively group experiences, KOCHCHI Glasgow promises an atmosphere that is warm, energetic and unmistakably rooted in South Indian culture. From signature plates to carefully crafted vegetarian and seafood options, the menu has been developed to reflect both authenticity and innovation.
The opening in Glasgow marks a major milestone for KOCHCHI as the brand evolves from its street food roots into a fully-fledged restaurant and bar concept. What began as a small kitchen serving bold, flame-fired dishes at Edinburgh’s Bonnie & Wild has grown into one of Scotland’s most celebrated Sri Lankan food brands.

The half a million-pound investment into the Glasgow West End destination will build on that success with an expanded menu and dedicated bar. Guests can expect the same fiery spirit and vibrant flavours that defined KOCHCHI’s early days, now brought to life in a space designed for lingering — where the rhythm of Colombo meets the warmth of Glasgow’s West End.
Founded by friends Shehan Fernando and Suki Jayaratne, KOCHCHI was born from a shared love of the country’s diversity and the belief that food is its most powerful storyteller. Though they grew up in different parts of Sri Lanka, it was Colombo – the country’s bustling capital -that united their culinary vision.
KOCHCHI Glasgow will have a dining capacity of 80 covers spanning over two floors plus an external seating area. There will also be a dedicated bar area with a carefully curated drinks list — featuring Sri Lankan-inspired cocktails, craft beers, and tropical softs — these will complement the food’s energy and heat.
