World Whisky Day offers the perfect excuse to rethink how whisky is enjoyed, moving beyond the traditional dram to explore fresh flavours and inventive serves.

To mark the occasion, Loch Lomond Group is highlighting its award-winning Highland and Campbeltown distilleries, Loch Lomond Whiskies and Glen Scotia, by encouraging drinkers to experience their single malts in new and accessible ways, including simple, flavour-led cocktails.

Loch Lomond Whiskies, located just a few miles from Scotland’s famous loch, is celebrated for its distinctive house style of elegant fruit, honeyed sweetness and soft smoke. This character is achieved through a combination of traditional Swan-Neck and innovative Straight-Neck Stills, alongside maturation in carefully prepared casks from the distillery’s own cooperage.

Meanwhile, Glen Scotia, one of just three remaining distilleries in Campbeltown, continues to uphold centuries-old production methods. Its small, skilled team works within original stillrooms and dunnage warehouses to create maritime-influenced whiskies with bold Campbeltown character, expressions that have gained global recognition in recent years.

To bring these flavour profiles to life in a more contemporary format, Loch Lomond Group has introduced two easy-to-make whisky cocktails. Among them is ‘The Turn’, a refreshing serve inspired by the halfway point in a round of golf and a nod to Loch Lomond Whiskies’ long-standing partnership with The Open.

Built around Loch Lomond 12 Year Old, the cocktail highlights the whisky’s signature notes of peach and pear, layered with vanilla sweetness and a gentle hint of smoke.
