Fresh Direct has launched its Summer Picks 2026 range, introducing a curated selection of British seasonal produce and chef-ready ingredients designed to help foodservice operators create flavour-led summer menus.

The latest collection showcases a range of peak-season crops, including vertically farmed salad leaves, Isle of Wight tomatoes, Jersey Royals, summer berries, rhubarb and an expanded selection of microgreens. The supplier said the range reflects its continued commitment to provenance, sustainability and delivering consistent quality for professional kitchens.

As part of its sustainability strategy, all of Fresh Direct’s contracted British produce is now sourced from LEAF Marque-accredited farms, making it the first foodservice supplier to achieve the milestone.

This year’s range also builds on the company’s partnership with GrowUp Farms, introducing pesticide-free, ready-to-use salad mixes grown using 100% renewable energy. New additions include the Unbeleafable Baby Garlic Kale Mix and Mixed Baby Leaf, offering chefs convenient, ready-prepared ingredients with minimal waste and preparation.

British tomatoes remain a centrepiece of the seasonal range, with Isle of Wight Beef, Coeur de Boeuf, heirloom and mixed baby plum varieties returning for the summer season. Fresh Direct has paired the selection with chef-developed recipes designed to showcase the tomatoes’ natural sweetness, vibrant colour and texture.

The company has also expanded its microgreens offering through its partnership with Westlands, providing operators with a wider choice of varieties harvested at peak flavour. The range includes Micro Broccoli Leaf, Micro Red Amaranth and Shoot Mix, all designed to enhance dishes with added texture, aroma and visual appeal.

Returning seasonal favourites such as Jersey Royals, rhubarb and British berries are accompanied by recipe inspiration aimed at helping operators maximise seasonal ingredients and respond to growing consumer demand for plant-forward dishes.

The Summer Picks range also introduces Portabellini mushrooms, offering a firm, meaty texture suited to grilling, roasting and marinades.

Andy Pembroke, Managing Director of Fresh Direct, said: “Our Summer Picks 2026 range is designed to empower chefs with the freshest, most sustainable British produce, helping them create menus that truly celebrate the season’s best. We’re proud to support operators in delivering exceptional quality and flavour while championing environmental responsibility.”
