Family-owned luxury Irish hotel group The Address Collective has unveiled a first look at Address Wren, its second boutique property in Glasgow, ahead of its official opening on Friday, 17 July.
Set atop the iconic Caledonian Chambers building at 87 Union Street, directly above Glasgow Central Station, the design-led hotel occupies the entire penthouse level, offering a unique 30-bedroom retreat in the heart of the city. The opening coincides with Glasgow’s preparations for the upcoming Commonwealth Games, further cementing the city’s position as a major destination.
Address Wren marks the seventh addition to The Address Collective’s growing portfolio, following the successful launch of The Address Glasgow in 2023. Perched above the station’s distinctive glass roof, the hotel delivers sweeping views across the city alongside the group’s signature blend of contemporary luxury and warm Irish hospitality.
The hotel’s interiors have been conceived around the idea of warmth, comfort and sanctuary, drawing inspiration from its namesake, the wren. Known for nesting safely above the bustle below, the bird provides a fitting metaphor for the elevated guest experience offered within the property.

Working within the building’s compact footprint, the design team has embraced its intimate scale while maximising character and impact. Bedrooms are finished in a rich palette of blush tones, while deeper, more dramatic hues define the public spaces, creating a cohesive yet layered atmosphere throughout. Original oak timber flooring has been retained across much of the hotel, adding both texture and authenticity.
While Address Wren establishes a distinct identity, subtle design connections link it to its sister property, The Address Glasgow. The Parlour provides a visual bridge between the two, maintaining continuity across the brand’s Glasgow offering.
Every element within the hotel has been carefully considered, with all furniture custom-designed specifically for the property. Lighting plays a central role, with layered, fully controllable schemes in each bedroom, including concealed warm-white LED features integrated into headboards and wall panelling to create a soft, ambient glow.
High ceilings painted in darker tones contrast with warm wall finishes, creating an intimate, cocooning effect. Bespoke upholstered headboards sit alongside cantilevered quartz bedside shelves and adjustable reading lights, while open wardrobe designs reinterpret the traditional bellman’s trolley with a contemporary twist.
Bathrooms continue the considered design approach, featuring drench showers and terrazzo-effect tiles that introduce bold accents without overwhelming the space.
The welcoming atmosphere begins at reception, where guests are greeted by a bespoke desk with a light quartz worktop, complemented by warm lighting and custom joinery. A Grab ‘n’ Go counter enhances convenience, while existing storage units have been upcycled with decorative mouldings and new finishes, reflecting the project’s emphasis on craftsmanship and sustainability.

In the corridors, a bespoke carpet runner subtly incorporates delicate wren footprints, offering a playful nod to the hotel’s identity. Rather than relying heavily on artwork, interiors are punctuated with statement mirrors and curated objects, maintaining a calm and understated aesthetic.
Address Wren joins The Address Collective’s expanding portfolio of boutique hotels across Ireland and the UK, continuing the group’s focus on design-led destinations rooted in a strong sense of place.
