Galway-based chocolatier recognised for Decadent Collection and Grá Chocolate Box
Grá Chocolates, the Galway-based luxury artisan chocolatier, has been awarded Gold and Silver at this year’s British Food Awards. The company received Gold in the chocolate category for its Decadent Collection, while its Grá Chocolate Box was awarded Silver in the same category.
The awards recognise two of the brand’s signature collections, which are handmade in small batches in County Galway by founder and pastry chef Gráinne Mullins. Grá Chocolates states that its creations are made over three days, featuring hand-polished moulds, vibrant hand-painted finishes, and flavours inspired by Irish ingredients and produce.
The Grá Chocolate Box includes 10 hand-painted chocolates with five varieties of fillings, such as honeycomb with local Sliabh Aughty honey, foraged water mint ganache, strawberry compote with Kylemore Farmhouse raw cream, and salted caramel made with Achill Island sea salt.
These latest accolades follow Grá Chocolates’ Bee My Honey chocolate being awarded a one-star Great Taste accolade by the Guild of Fine Food. This product, which combines rich chocolate with wild Irish honey, was recognised during a judging process that assessed more than 15,000 food and drink entries this year.

Gráinne Mullins commented that the recent recognition was particularly meaningful for the business so soon after its Great Taste success. She said: “To be recognised with two more awards at the British Food Awards, so soon after our Great Taste win, is a really special moment for me and the team.

Grá Chocolates has developed a reputation for combining premium chocolate with distinct Irish flavours, utilising ingredients like Irish cream, local honey, and sea salt alongside ethically sourced Valrhona chocolate. The company’s recent success at the British Food Awards further highlights its growing profile within the artisan food and drink sector.
