New lineup features Halloween baking, chef camps and masterclasses at Queen Street.

Following its relaunch earlier this year, Edinburgh Food & Drink Academy (EFDA) has unveiled its autumn lineup, offering interactive cooking experiences and exclusive dining events for all ages at its historic Queen Street townhouse. The seasonal schedule highlights culinary creativity, local talent, and practical kitchen skills, including hands-on family Halloween baking workshops, week-long October break holiday camps for young chefs, evening masterclasses, and a Chef’s Table event.

Families can get into the Halloween spirit with an Adult and Child Halloween Baking Workshop, scheduled for Sunday 18 October from 10am-1pm, with tickets for two costing £150. Designed for children aged 9-16 years old and their favourite adult, the workshop involves creating pumpkin spiced cupcakes, toffee apple bars, and mummy sausage rolls. For children aged 9-12, the Mini Chef’s Holiday Camp runs from Monday 19 to Friday 23 October, 10am-3pm daily, costing £500 per person. During the five-day camp, children will make four different dishes a day.

For keen cooks, EFDA offers The Confident Cook Course, a five-week programme beginning on Thursday 22 October, 6-8pm, at a cost of £495. Additionally, a one-day ‘Cooking with Game’ class will take place on Saturday 10 and Saturday 31 October, 9:45am – 3:30pm, at £225 per person. This class teaches how to prepare dishes such as venison and cranberry casserole, game terrine, and Moroccan style partridge one pot stew. An Open Evening for the Professional Diploma will also take place on Wednesday 18 November at 6pm.

An intimate Chef’s Table event with Harajuku Kitchen is set for Friday 6 November at 7pm, with tickets costing £90. Limited to 24 guests, the event will feature a curated multi-course Japanese menu and live cooking demonstrations by Executive Chef Kaori Simpson and her team. Edinburgh Food & Drink Academy is located at 7 Queen Street, Edinburgh, and further information and bookings can be made via its website.
