Tennis fans are in for a treat as luxury venue Meldrum House Country Hotel in Aberdeenshire, has announced a special event with Judy Murray OBE on Thursday 19 June.

The event will coincide with the prestigious ATP Tennis Tournament at the Queen’s Club and has been planned just ahead of this year’s Championships at Wimbledon, which kick off at the end of June.

Supported by Aberdeen brand agency Imajica, it will be an opportunity to hear some great stories from Judy’s illustrious career as well as delving into some unique ‘behind the scenes tales’ from the tennis tour and the Strictly ballroom.

An exclusive Wimbledon-themed Champagne Afternoon Tea, sponsored by Laurent Perrier for only 30-guests, will be held at lunchtime in their Titan Sky Bar.  In the evening a special dinner with drinks sponsors Laurent Perrier and a selection of fine wines from Corney & Barrow, will be held at night for up to 150 guests which will include a Q&A with the charismatic tennis legend, hosted by comedian Fred MacAulay.

Speaking ahead of the event, the former Scottish internationalist tennis player, tennis-coach, Strictly Come Dancing contestant, novelist and mother to Grand Slam champions Jamie and Andy Murray said; “I’m really looking forward to heading to Aberdeen at the height of the grass court season.  Tennis has shaped my entire life so I’m looking forward to sharing experiences and insights  and answering lots of interesting questions from the guests.  Plus, I love working with Fred, so I’ve no doubt, there will be plenty of great banter.”

As a former Scottish international tennis player, Judy is of course, best known for her coaching.  After initiating the Scottish Development School programme, it successfully produced four Davis Cup players and one Fed Cup player, including her Grand Slam winning sons, Jamie and Andy.

She’s currently involved in a campaign to encourage more women into tennis across the UK as well as launching the Judy Murray Foundation which ensures affordable and accessible tennis in some of the most deprived areas of Scotland.

Not just a tennis legend, she has written three books, including a memoir of her life ‘Knowing the Score’ and her debut fiction novel ‘The Wild Card’.  Her third book ‘Game, Set & Murder’ will be published this July, just after the event at Meldrum.  She entertained everyone on Strictly Come Dancing thanks to her partnership with Anton du Beke and is the presenter of the ITV series Driving Force which showcases the lives of some of Britain’s most successful sportswomen.

Tickets priced at £95 for the Afternoon Tea and £125 for the dinner are available on the Meldrum House website – https://www.meldrumhouse.com/event/event-with-judy-murray/
