HOT on the heels of double successes at the Scottish Retail Food and Drink Awards, Gin Bothy has begun selling to mainland Europe through outlets in Switzerland and Germany.

Gin Bothy, already widely recognised as one of Scotland’s leading gin companies won a Gold Award for their ‘Gunshot Gin’, alongside a Silver Award for sister company, Rum Bothy and the Angus based company has now partnered with independent retailer Glen Fahrn to sell both Gin Bothy throughout Switzerland and Germany.

Founded by Kim Cameron in 2015, Gin Bothy uses traditional methods of production to deliver their premium gin. They now produce over 60,000 units each year and it is expected this new partnership will deliver quarterly shipments  to cope with European demand.

Another member of the Bothy trading family, Hipflask Spirits, launched earlier this year after Kim used the down time created by the pandemic to pursue projects that had once been on the back burner.

Hipflask Spirits was created as a supermarket brand and we were selected as one of Aldis next top products. Hipflask Sloe Bramble is now available in all Scottish Aldi stores as part of their Scottish spirit festival. Produced in smaller 20cl bottles, Hipflask Spirits are perfect to be carried in a pocket or bag and taken out on any adventure whether that be hillwalking or swimming.

Kim Cameron, Gin Bothy Founder, said: “The Scottish Retail Food & Drink Awards recognise the best products from across Scotland. Winning two awards recognises all the hard work that our small but dedicated team consistently delivers.

“The recent expansion to Switzerland and Germany marks the start of a relationship with independent retailer Glen Fahrn. The gin consumer market of Germany and Switzerland has a combined value of US$811 million* demonstrating the significant potential of the partnership.

“However, we have ambitious plans, to spread the Bothy love even further afield as we continue to expand our export adventure and develop our global network beyond Europe.”
