Brakes, the UK’s leading foodservice wholesaler, has launched a range of hot beverages under Sysco’s new Citavo brand.

Working in partnership with leading coffee brand, Cafédirect, the range is led by a selection of premium roast and ground coffee beans. The blend of rich, full-bodied Fairtrade Arabica and Robusta beans, delivers smooth, smoky notes and a hint of burnt toffee. This is backed up by great-tasting instant coffee available in both tins and sticks.

Complementing the coffee is a premium blend of golden tea. Featuring robust Kenyan tea for strength, rich Assam tea for body, and high-grown Rwandan tea for a zesty finish, the blend delivers a strong, refreshing brew with a rich body, a smooth, high-quality finish, and a vibrant golden colour in the cup.

Adding some sweetness to the range are a number of rich, smooth hot chocolate options – from instant powders to pure cocoa – all designed for convenience and quality.

Paul Nieduszynski, CEO of Sysco GB, said: “We understand how important hot drinks are and how outlets have to compete with the multitude of coffee shops that are on every high street. Our new range gives caterers a great tasting, reliable and competitively priced option that will allow them to offer a fantastic hot beverage solution that will drive incremental income.”

Following the initial launch, the range will extend to herbal teas, decaffeinated options and sugar sticks over the next year.

As a Sysco brand, Citavo is governed by Sysco’s Food Safety & Quality Assurance (FSQA) promise which ensures that any product carrying the Sysco Quality Assured logo is guaranteed to meet its exacting standards.
