On Tuesday 10 and Wednesday 11 March, acclaimed British baker and food writer Edd Kimber will host a two-day pop-up at Lannan – Darcie Maher’s much-loved bakery in Stockbridge. The collaboration coincides with the release of Kimber’s latest cookbook, Chocolate Baking (Quadrille, £28).
From 9am until sell-out, visitors can expect an indulgent counter of chocolate-inspired creations taken directly from the new book. The line-up includes chocolate and whipped caramel cake, salted peanut butter and jelly tarts, hazelnut and maple milk chocolate tart, tonka bean pound cake, and chocolate and absinthe canelé, among others. Guests will also be able to purchase signed copies of Chocolate Baking during the event.
Since opening in July 2023, Lannan has built a reputation for Darcie Maher’s meticulous viennoiserie and inventive pastries – from her celebrated custard slices to cardamom buns and seasonal specials that champion Scottish produce. The bakery was named Pastry Opening of the Year 2024 by La Liste, and in October 2025, Maher expanded her offering with Lannan Pantry, a neighbouring retail and events space showcasing artisan products and collaborations.
