Costa Coffee, the Nation’s Favourite Coffee Shop*, has officially opened the doors to its newest store on Princes Street, bringing handcrafted coffee, a modern design, and impressive views of the capital to the city centre.

Representing an investment of approximately £500,000 into Edinburgh’s high street, the new opening underscores Costa Coffee’s continued commitment to vibrant city-centre locations.

Positioned in the heart of Edinburgh, the new store offers a standout experience from the moment customers arrive. Accessible via escalator, lift, or staircase, the space opens into a bright, modern setting designed for everything from quick coffee stops to relaxed catchups.

A defining feature of the store is its panoramic outlook, with floor-to-ceiling windows featuring views across Princes Street and directly onto the iconic Edinburgh Castle. Inside, customers will find a range of seating options designed with comfort in mind, catering to shoppers, commuters, and visitors alike.

The opening has also created new local job opportunities, with seven new team members joining the store alongside experienced baristas from nearby locations, creating a welcoming team ready to serve the community.

Customers can enjoy Costa Coffee’s full range of handcrafted drinks, alongside freshly baked pastries prepared in-store each day. What’s more, the store opening coincides with Costa Coffee’s brand-new summer menu launching, featuring indulgent additions such as the Hazelnut Crème range and high-protein options including the Chicken Gyros Style Flatbread.

Scott Kennaway, Area Manager at Costa Coffee said: “We’re excited to open our new Princes Street store in such a vibrant and historic part of Edinburgh. With incredible views of the castle and a welcoming, modern space, this store offers something truly special. We look forward to becoming part of the daily routine for both locals and visitors.”

Tracy Gilbert, Member of Parliament for Edinburgh North and Leith, said: “Costa Coffee’s new store on Princes Street is a welcome addition to Edinburgh North and Leith. It’s great to see continued investment in our local high streets, along with new opportunities for jobs and skills development. I’m pleased to see a commitment to supporting staff and contributing positively to the community.”

The store is now open and welcoming customers from 6am to 9pm Monday to Saturday, and 7:30am to 8pm Sunday. Click & Collect is also available via the Costa Club App for customers on the go.
