New nationwide partnership supports brand’s ambitious growth plans to reach £6m turnover by 2028
Equi’s Ice Cream, the much-loved Scottish brand, is announcing its largest retail partnership to date, launching four Equi’s flavours into 67 Tesco stores across Scotland today.
The deal represents a major step forward in Equi’s growth journey, dramatically increasing its reach to Scots, bringing its premium ice cream to more consumers across the country. It also plays a key role in the brand’s strategy to achieve £6 million in turnover by 2028, underpinned by a targeted 25% year-on-year growth rate.
This latest listing further strengthens Equi’s position within the premium ice cream category and supports its longer-term ambitions to expand across the UK and into international markets.
The range launching in selected Tesco stores includes four of Equi’s best-selling flavours: Madagascan Vanilla, Raspberry Ripple, Pistachio Swirl, and Scottish Tablet.
All Equi’s flavours are made using high-quality ingredients, including locally sourced whole milk and double cream from Scottish farms, staying true to the brand’s heritage and commitment to excellence.
To meet growing demand, Equi’s has made a substantial investment in its production capabilities at its Rutherglen facility, combining increased capacity with a major push into sustainability with the use of solar panels and the introduction of cutting-edge robotic technology. These advancements will enhance efficiency, support future growth, and reduce the company’s environmental footprint.
David Equi, CEO of Equi’s Ice Cream, said: “This is a landmark moment for our business. Securing a listing with Tesco, our biggest account to date, is a huge achievement and a testament to the strength of our brand and product. We’ve built Equi’s over four generations with a focus on quality, craftsmanship, and supporting local suppliers, and we’re incredibly proud to now bring our Italian heritage ice cream to even more customers across Scotland.
