Platform, Glasgow

SCOTLAND’s largest casual restaurant and event space is celebrating its four year anniversary by releasing an exciting spring programme.

Heralding a return to pre covid times, Platform – located under the catacombs of Glasgow central station, will welcome a host of live events, markets and exciting entertainment to mark their birthday.

Kicking off this weekend, the 35,000 sq ft space will welcome ex Specials, DJ and sax player, Drew Stansall for Quadrophenia Live! – a tribute to the iconic rock movie. Echoing the soundtrack from the cult film favourite, and a giant live screening of Quadrophenia, mod lovers can enjoy classic WHO! tracks like My Generation, Bell Boy alongside the best in Mod, Ska, Soul, R&B and 2tone.

There are also live performances from UK’s top cover band, The Atlantics, and a wide range of drinks at the bar to get you in the party mood.

Or if laid-back vibes are more your jam, their Bob Marley Saturday Dancehall will bring a comforting mix of reggae and rhythm and blues on March 26th. Top live tribute act, Buffalo Soldiers will perform Marley’s classic tunes to sway along to, alongside a host of DJs soundtracking your evening.

Meanwhile, in their spacious restaurant and bar arches, you’ll find mesmerising acoustic performances from a range of Glasgow buskers whilst you catch up with friends over drinks or enjoy a bite to eat from their street food kitchen.  Ruby fans can also catch the action with all matches being shown on a massive screen.

In April, The UNICORN DISCO BALL touches down in Glasgow promising a night of Disco, Dance Off’s & Drag Queens.

From those standout sing-along DISCO chart hits to the hugely influential Studio 54 anthems, The Unicorn Disco Ball is true to the spirit and vibe of the late 70s and early 80s when the first generation of Disco took over the world.

There are also surprises in store in their kitchen, with a new menu in development, set to launch later this spring as they plan to unveil new delicious dishes from their collaborative kitchen team under the helm of head chef Jules Macguire.

The team is also working on a new drinks collection from their bar which will be unveiled the mark the easing of covid restrictions.

PLATFORM operates every Friday and Saturday from 12noon until late, complete with a fully licensed bar offering up a revolving list of cocktail classics, guest beers and a range of Scottish gins and whiskies, and local craft sodas.

Kathryn McCormick, owner of PLATFORM said:

“The last four years have been a rollercoaster for everyone in hospitality, us included. This year will be our first proper birthday celebrations and we’re bringing events back in a big way. We want to create a hub of entertainment and fun experiences for guests to come in and enjoy at Platform.

“Whether you’re starting or ending your day or night out with us, we’ve got something for everyone this spring.”
