Move strengthens Brakes’ fresh meat offer, includes Casterbridge beef range.

Fairfax Meadow, described by the company as a UK catering butcher, has launched more than 30 fresh meat products for Brakes. The new range covers beef, lamb, pork, chicken and veal.

The offering is led by Fairfax Meadow’s Casterbridge beef, which is produced from PGI West Country cattle and aged for a minimum of 21 days. Selected cuts are dry aged in Himalayan salt chambers to deepen flavour and improve tenderness.

Fairfax Meadow, which was acquired by Sysco in 2025, has more than fifty years’ experience. The company highlights its reputation for the quality of its meat range, which includes strong sourcing, skilled butchery and full farm to fork traceability. Fairfax Meadow also states that its products are prepared to foodservice specifications.

This launch is intended to strengthen Brakes’ fresh meat proposition by adding specialist capability from within Sysco. Fairfax Meadow states it brings heritage, BRCGS‑certified sites, complete traceability and a multi‑species range that sits alongside the Sysco tiered brands. Additionally, Fairfax Meadow was the winner of Meat Management’s Catering Butcher of the Year award earlier this year.

Brakes customers will gain access to a wide range of quality products, with the convenience of one order, one delivery and one invoice.

David Cole, Merchandising Director at Sysco GB, commented: “The Fairfax Meadow products are a brilliant addition to Brakes’ fresh meat range. Being part of Sysco means we can bring together the strengths of our sister companies in a way that really benefits customers. Fairfax Meadow has a long track record of quality and consistency, and now chefs can access that expertise through Brakes with the simplicity they already know. It is another step forward in building a fresh offer that helps kitchens deliver great plates of food every day.”

The initial range of 30 products is expected to expand over the coming year.
