FANS OF a beloved Highland bakery will soon be able to get their hands on a host of free cakes including its famous dream rings, marzipan apples and pineapple tarts.
Harry Gow has launched the Baker’s Half Dozen – a new loyalty scheme in its 18 shops across Inverness, the Highlands and Moray – allowing regular customers the chance to earn free goodies as a thank you for their support over the years.
Fraser Gow, director at Harry Gow, said: “We know times are tough just now, with the ever-increasing cost of living. That’s why we wanted to give something back to the customers and communities that have supported us since the earliest days of Harry Gow.
“The Baker’s Half-Dozen reward card draws on that long standing tradition of getting something extra from your baker – after all, who doesn’t love a freebie?!”

The term baker’s dozen has its origins in medieval times, where bakers would add extra products to every order to avoid being accused of short changing customers and risking a public flogging.
Harry Gow has built on that tradition, turning what was historically an act of self defence into one of celebration, as a reward for loyal customers.
Fraser continued: “Everyone that visits our shops has a different favourite cake – from the vanilla and raspberry slice to the fern cake. Our new reward cards will allow customers to choose whichever free cake they want after earning six stamps, so there’s a real freedom for people to be rewarded with their favourite treat.
“They say there’s no such thing as a free lunch… well, that’s not entirely true. Now you can have your dessert on us!”
Baker’s Half-Dozen reward cards are now available for free in all of Harry Gow’s shops. Customers will earn a stamp with each purchase, with six qualifying them for a free cake.
Inverness-headquartered Harry Gow has 18 bakery shops across Inverness, the Highlands and Moray. Harry Gow was crowned the first Scottish Baker of the Year in 2012, and to date is the only bakery to have scooped the top award twice – winning again in 2019. Harry Gow’s products are also found in 34 Co-op stores across the north of Scotland, in two branches of Morrisons and one Asda location.
