The Galloway Gathering Project, a nationwide campaign bringing together Scottish cheese brand and UK charity FareShare, has raised the equivalent of 92,000 meals directly for people experiencing food poverty and loneliness.
As part of its calendar of community events designed to combat loneliness and food poverty, the project travelled from Garve in the Highlands to Thornhill in Dumfries and Galloway to raise money and awareness for the vital work of FareShare.
New for 2025, the Galloway Gathering Tour visited the Highlands, Aberdeenshire, Dumfries and Galloway, and Stirling, with over 150 attendees enjoying cheesy comfort food, live music, and meaningful social connections at each event.
The Tour, which took place over the month of October featured live performances by acclaimed Scottish musician Anna Massie, a multi-instrumentalist and presenter of BBC Radio Scotland’s award-winning Travelling Folk.
Ambassador of the project, MasterChef the Professional champion and award-winning chef Gary Maclean visited Dundee to whip up plates of Macaroni and Cheese for Dundee locals, encouraging social interaction through warm and comforting meals. Meanwhile, Scottish local food trucks also returned to the Galloway Gathering Project for the third-year running, offering a range of cheesy dishes encouraging the local community to donate to FareShare.
