GLASGOW’S Mikaku has launched a new partnership with Purist Gin to mark Japan Week Festival with a special cocktail – the Yuzu Ranburu (ゆずランブル). Purist Gin is mixed with Yuzushu Sake, raspberry syrup and freshly muddled raspberries and lime to make the perfect cocktail.

In addition to their £1 Ramen offer for lunchtimes, Mikaku welcomes Glasgow-based Purist Gin to their cocktail menu. Inspired by distiller Bruce’s travelling in Japan, the Purist Art Gin Batch #3 has yuzu as a key botanical making it a perfect match for Mikaku.

The Japan Week Festival returns for 2022, celebrating Japanese food, drink & culture with special events and deals. Partnering for the first time, Mikaku prides itself on being a vivid tribute to Japanese culture, with something to catch your eye in every direction. Serving authentic ramen and Izakaya (Japanese bar) dishes to compliment unique cocktails, Mikaku is a feast for all the senses.

Commenting, Bruce Walker, founder and distiller of Purist Gin said: “I’m absolutely thrilled to be collaborating with Mikaku to celebrate the Japan Week Festival. I traveled to Japan for Judo competitions when I was younger and immersed myself in their culture, that was when I first discovered Yuzu. When it came to designing and distilling my very own gin, I knew for sure that Yuzu had to be a key botanical in it.”

Dario Bernardi from Mikaku added: “We’re delighted to welcome Purist Gin to our menu, it’s clearly inspired from Bruce’s travels in Japan and compliments the Yuzu Sake in Yuzu Ranburu perfectly. It’s a great match for our £1 Ramen offer, marking Japan Week Festival in style.”
