THE GLASGOW-based UK Pizza Federation team competed in the Team World Championship for pizza held in Palermo on March 6 and 7, 2023, bringing home the first prize in the Roman-style pizza category. The team also achieved an outstanding fourth place as a team.

Team leader Emilio Giacometti led the team composed of Supervisor Franco Scanavini and chefs Gabriele Reina, Luigi Cellini, Luca Recchiuti, and Manuel Giacometti, who brought the UK Pizza Federation to victory in this important international competition.

The competitions were held at the Palermo Expocook, thanks to the organization of Enrico Bianchini, and the team received technical support from Molino Naldoni, which provided the high-quality flour used to create the award-winning pizzas.

The UK Pizza Federation team is extremely proud of the result achieved at the 2023 Team World Championship and would like to thank everyone who supported and encouraged the team during this unforgettable experience.
