A limited-edition festive favourite returns as the fifth-generation Scottish farming family reports a continued surge in Gold Top Jersey Milk sales, driven by consumers returning to natural, full-fat options.

Recently named Scottish Dairy Farm of the Year, and recognised as the UK’s leading Jersey milk producer, Graham’s Family Dairy is bringing back a festive favourite – Gold Top Extra Thick Jersey Cream – for a limited time this Christmas.

Adding something truly special to the popular Gold Top range, produced from the family’s own herd of nearly 300 Jerseys grazing the lush pastures of Stirlingshire – the indulgent limited-edition Jersey cream will make an appearance on shelves at select UK retailers throughout December. This luxurious Christmas edition perfectly complements the core Jersey Gold Top Milk range, the centrepiece of the festive campaign, ‘Make it a Gold Christmas.’

The comeback arrives as the family-run business continues to see a resurgence of Gold Top Jersey Milk, which has witnessed a spike in popularity – driven by consumers seeking out less-processed, naturally richer dairy options. Graham’s Family Dairy, which produces 90% of all Jersey milk sold in the UK, saw a 25% increase in sales of its Gold Top milk last year alone, demonstrating a clear shift away from semi-skimmed dominance.

Dr. Robert Graham, Chairman of Graham’s Family Dairy, said:

“My father started this business in 1939 with just 12 cows and a passion for quality, natural dairy. Now, as a fifth-generation farming family, Christmas is a time when we reflect on that heritage and the joy of bringing families together with great-tasting food.

“Over the decades, we’ve seen trends come and go. In the 70s, everyone drank whole milk, but it fell out of favour when semi-skimmed took over. Now, we’ve come full circle – people are rediscovering the natural goodness and benefits of tasty, full-fat milk like our Gold Top Jersey Milk. It’s not ultra-processed, it’s naturally creamier, and it’s 18% higher in protein and 20% higher in calcium than conventional milk.”

The return to full-fat and Jersey milk is being driven partly by new generations, with Kantar data showing under-45s are leading the spend on these ‘healthier options’ (Kantar, 2024). Once sidelined in the 1970s, Gold Top is regaining favour for its rich nutritional profile and less-processed qualities. New market analysis of the UK milk category highlights a clear trend towards natural ingredients. According to the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) data for the 52 weeks ending 4 October 2025, whole milk volume increased by 2.3% year-on-year, representing an additional 26.5 million litres sold. This growth is directly correlated with a rise in consumer concern and awareness regarding ultra-processed foods, leading shoppers to favour less-processed options like whole milk.

The ‘Make it a Gold Christmas’ campaign will be brought to life through a series of short films airing on STV and streaming platforms, spotlighting the fifth-generation family farming heritage behind the Gold Top Jersey herd staring the Graham’s at their family farm in Stirlingshire.

Dr. Graham continued:

“It’s truly amazing to see how strongly our focus on natural quality continues to resonate with people, especially during the festive season. Bringing back our indulgent Extra Thick Jersey Cream for Christmas is our way of helping families create those warm, special moments around the table, celebrating with the best, most natural and indulgent ingredients.”

To share the festive spirit, the family-run business is teaming up with cookery schools in Edinburgh and London, including hosting a special one-off event with Carina Contini. Together, they’ll showcase Christmas-inspired recipes that make the most of the uniquely creamy Gold Top Jersey Milk and indulgent Extra Thick Jersey Cream.

Graham’s Family Dairy holds the licence to produce and distribute the Gold Top milk and milk products on behalf of Quality Milk Producers Ltd. (QMP).
