Fife bottler prices second limited release at £120 a bottle
Independent Scotch whisky bottler Saltire Rare Malt has unveiled Cigar Malt Edition 2, a 15-year-old Inchgower single malt, the company announced. The whisky was hand-selected by Hans and Becky Offringa for its character, complexity and flavour profile. The release follows the sell-out of the brand’s debut Cigar Malt and is based in Falkland, Fife.
Bottled at 48.8% ABV, the Inchgower is priced at £120 with 298 bottles available. According to the company, it offers notes of orange marmalade, cherry pipe tobacco, stewed red apples and ground cloves, balanced by honeycomb and warm leather. The release describes it as medium-bodied with a long, lingering finish, designed to complement a cigar or be enjoyed on its own.
The Cigar Malt collection launched with an 18-year-old single malt from the now-closed Speyside Distillers, which sold out following its release. The company said this popularity paved the way for the second expression.
