Glasgow-based BeeHype Honey has launched the first-ever salted honey in the UK – a healthy swap to the beloved salted caramel.
Salted Honey is part of the brand’s exciting portfolio of innovative honey products, as the startup is on a mission to reshape the honey industry and popularise honey.
It combines two natural ingredients – raw honey and a pinch of alpine salt. The product is gluten and dairy free and on average has 30% fewer calories compared to traditional salted caramel spreads, making it the first of its kind on the market.
“It’s truly remarkable how something as simple as a pinch of salt can change the flavour of honey and we elevate its sweetness. When we give out samples of our Salted Honey, people are always surprised how we’ve made honey taste as decadent as salted caramel, and they love its velvety, creamy texture”, said Stela Aleksieva, BeeHype Co-founder.

This exciting new spread makes it easier than ever for consumers to indulge in one of Britons’ most beloved desserts without the unnecessary saturated fats, calories, and refined sugar, as well as dairy, which is one of the top allergens.
Although the product is relatively new to the market, its novelty and exceptional flavour have already been recognised widely. Salted Honey proudly holds two stars from the prestigious Great Taste Awards, it’s a customer favourite and retail bestseller, and has even been discovered by the buyers at Selfridges.
“We’ve always strived to diversify and improve our current diet without compromising ontaste. Raw honey is one of the oldest known superfoods that we all need in our busy lives, but more and more people are missing out on it. That’s how Salted Honey was born.”, said Stela, BeeHype co-founder.
Customers can find Salted Honey directly on BeeHype’s website, in Selfridges and in over 150 independent stores around the country.
In addition, BeeHype has recently expanded its portfolio with ginger honey, Ginger Boost, and bee pollen called Happy Bee Pollen, to help boost consumers’ immune systems with natural vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
