Vittoria Group, a prominent Edinburgh-based hospitality company, has unveiled its latest culinary venture, Landy’s Restaurant, on the historic Royal Mile.
This new establishment represents a contemporary reimagining of the traditional coastal fish and chip shop, bringing a taste of seaside dining to the heart of Scotland’s capital.
Landy’s marks a significant expansion for the Vittoria Group, which has been a fixture in Edinburgh’s restaurant scene since opening its first establishment in the Leith neighbourhood in 1970.
The new restaurant aims to offer patrons an authentic yet innovative fish and chips experience. Situated in the former Byron Burger location at 29-31 North Bridge, Landy’s occupies an impressive 7000 square feet.
The menu has been carefully crafted to provide affordable options that reinvent classic British chip shop dishes while introducing modern interpretations of seaside favourites.

Notably, the restaurant offers a range of lighter selections, with all menu items priced under £10, ensuring accessibility for a diverse clientele.
Drawing inspiration from nostalgic British seaside holidays, Landy’s presents a curated selection of dishes that balance traditional flavours with contemporary culinary techniques.
The menu features expertly prepared battered fish and chips alongside classic chip shop specialities, each enhanced with a unique twist.
A highlight of the offerings is Landy’s innovative take on Edinburgh’s renowned chippy sauce, adding a local touch to the dining experience.
The 200 cover restaurant set over two floors offers Scottish charm and British seaside nostalgia with fresh, flaky fish battered to crispy perfection, served golden with piping hot chips at the heart of the menu.
Other Chip shop classics on the menu include Battered Pork Sausage, Haggis, Black Pudding, White Pudding and a Deep Fried Pizza Crunch supper.
Landy’s extensive menu also includes some unique twists away from the traditional Breaded or Battered Haddock, such as Cajun Spiced Haddock, Lemon and Herb Baked Haddock and Vegan Fish and Chips, as well as more hearty dishes like Steak Pie, Steak Burger, Haggis Neeps and Tatties, Mac’n’Cheese, and a daily changing Homemade Pie. And for dessert, Landy’s Deep Fried Mars Bar – crispy on the outside, gooey on the inside, is a sweet treat that brings out the kid in all of us.
Vittoria Group Director, Alberto Crolla said: “The capital’s lively Old Town is the ideal location to expand our restaurant business to new and existing customers.
“Following the enormous success of our sister restaurant, Bertie’s on Victoria Street, Landy’s provides dining comfort food at its finest.
“We want to recreate the nostalgic appeal of fish and chips on the beach or by the sea with classic chip shop dishes at the heart of the menu”.
Landy’s eating area features a mix of navy and red designs, with ropes and anchors delicately interwoven throughout.
The restaurant features seaside-themed decor and an open kitchen, providing diners with a fun theater-like dining experience.

Local design team Significant Others along with the main contractor Severinos were appointed by Vittoria Group to develop the £2 Million investment in Landy’s and 70 new jobs have been created with the the expansion of Vittoria Groups restaurant portfolio in Edinburgh and the Lothians.
