GLASWEGIANS are about to embark on an exotic culinary adventure as Rickshaw and Co, announces its opening date in Glasgow’s west end.
Set to open on Thursday, June 2nd, the exciting new 120 cover restaurant and stylish café bar has revealed the colourful cuisine you’ll find on its vibrant Indian and Bangladeshi menus. Rickshaw & Co will welcome diners from early until late, seven days a week.
Bringing a world of spice and Bengali cafe culture, guests are invited to stay for a cup of chai or cocktail, sample their modern street food or enjoy sharing comforting dishes or a savoury snack as part of the intoxicating all-day menu at Rickshaw.
There’s everything from mouthwatering small plates, fresh tandoori grills, biryanis, salad bowls, wraps, tiffin boxes and larger curries that cater for all dietary requirements including vegan and vegetarian.
Signature dishes on the menu include Pav Bhaji – a street food delicacy from Mumbai. It features homemade bread that’s baked in house, with a thick delicious vegetable curry to soak up the soft melt-in-your-mouth bread.
From their tandoori oven, spice fans will adore their slow cooked charcoaled lamb chops with hot Kashmiri chillies. Paneer Tikka is another must-try. Indian cottage cheese is marinated in a house spice blend with cooling yoghurt and turmeric then charcoaled to lock in flavour.
You’ll also find fragrant curries on the menu like their Goan King Prawn speciality. Bangladeshi coastal king prawns are marinated in a signature blend of spices with a mild coconut crema which complements both varieties of rice and bread.
Before or after your meal, stay for a drink and soak up the eclectic atmosphere of their stylish cafe bar or mezzanine with their interesting list of cocktails, wines and craft beers.
Located in the heart of West End in the former Hyde cocktail bar, Rickshaw & Co will offer a modern perspective on street food from the bustling food markets of India and Bangladesh.
Rickshaw co-owner Tushar Ahmed, said:
