Modern trattoria Patatino has unveiled a new brunch menu at The Hoxton, Edinburgh, introducing a lively Italian twist to the capital’s weekend dining scene.

Available every Saturday and Sunday from 12pm to 4pm, the offering blends the restaurant’s signature dishes with creative takes on brunch classics, delivering a menu that moves seamlessly from indulgent small plates to hearty mains and vibrant cocktails.

The brunch begins with a selection of standout small plates, including waffles tiramisù layered with mascarpone cream and coffee, alongside Patatino’s cult favourite fried spaghetti, served with marinara and a punchy spicy basil pesto. Guests can then move on to more substantial dishes, ranging from familiar options such as eggs royale and avocado toast to more distinctive plates like mortadella flatbread with pistachio pesto and stracciatella, and eggs with ‘nduja on sourdough paired with aubergine caviar and salsa verde.

Staying true to its Italian roots, Patatino also brings its pasta and pizza expertise to the brunch table. Signature dishes include spaghettoni cacio e pepe and reginette with lamb ragù, salsa verde and pecorino, while sourdough pizzas feature toppings such as Scottish mozzarella with sugo and basil. A playful nod to the restaurant’s Scottish-Italian identity comes in the form of a pizza topped with ‘nduja, haggis, rocket, oregano honey and fior di latte.

Drinks are equally considered, with a cocktail list designed to complement the bold flavours of the menu. Highlights include the citrus-led Pata-tini, made with Malfy con Limone, Rinquinquin à la pêche, Cocchi Rosa and bitters, and the refreshing Pomo-dorini, combining Reyka vodka with tomato and basil cordial, lemon juice and soda.

For those looking to fully embrace the experience, the Brunchatino menu offers a curated feast, pairing any small plate, large plate and two cocktails for £45.

With its mix of Italian comfort, inventive brunch dishes and a lively drinks list, Patatino’s new weekend menu adds a fresh and flavour-driven option to Edinburgh’s brunch landscape.
