Championing local Scottish suppliers, Aldi Scotland sources its carrots from Aberdeenshire-based Benzies. The fourth-generation family business, now run by Philip Benzie alongside his wife, Hazel, and stepson Chris, produces between 20,000 – 30,000 tons of Scottish carrots every year.
As the UK’s Cheapest Supermarket*, Aldi can bring this staple to Scots for a fraction of the cost, with each carrot costing just 4p.
Graham Nicolson, Group Buying Director, Aldi Scotland said: At Aldi, we’ve always had a sweet spot for the carrot. A delicious, nutritional, and versatile vegetable, it is one of the most popular vegetables on our shelves, and a staple of lentil soups and Sunday Roasts across the country.
“Our customers bagged over 185 million carrots in the last year, and I have no doubt it’s because of the enhanced freshness that comes from being locally grown in Aberdeenshire, and the competitive, every day amazing price point at which we proudly retail at Aldi Scotland.”
Philip Benzie, said: “Carrots are one of our most popular lines of produce, and one we supply across Scotland and the UK.
“Like Aldi Scotland, we at Benzies take real pride in supplying Scottish customers and supporting our local community.”
Benzie’s range of carrots is available across Aldi Scotland’s 104 stores. You can find your nearest Aldi here.
