The award-winning 1881 Tiffin Gin

1881 DISTILLERY has won the Silver award for Flavoured Gin of the Year at the Scottish Gin Awards 2021.

Tiffin Gin is part of 1881’s core collection and incorporates light aromatic, warming spices to achieve its distinctive taste, with notes of cumin, cardamom, and kaffir lime.

The gin was the first created by distiller, Dean McDonald following his appointment.

Charlie Leckie, 1881 Brand Manager, said: “When we appointed Dean McDonald as distiller, his first task was to create a gin influenced by eastern spices for a new menu concept at Peebles Hydro Hotel. It is fantastic served alongside Indian dishes.

“It was so popular, Tiffin Gin was added to our core collection.

“We are delighted to see it recognised as one of the best flavoured gins and this is testament to the hard work and passion Dean put into creating it.”

Tiffin Gin is best served with ginger ale and garnished with dehydrated lime to release the aromatic spices.

1881 Distillery is an award-winning gin distillery located within Peebles Hydro Hotel and resort.
