A new Glasgow brewery will be joining the stellar line up at the Hamilton Beer Festival taking place on Saturday 11 August.

The Merchant City Brewing Company will be showcasing its Vienna Lager and Pilsner, the company’s newly created draught beer which was developed specifically for the festival season and has a clean, refreshing style.

The brewery launched just six months ago and has already scooped a top UK award at the SIBA National Independent Beer Awards.  The Vienna Lager has also been shortlisted in the Best Lager category at the Scottish Beer Awards along with eight other nominations.

Winners will be announced on 27 September at an awards dinner in Edinburgh.

Allan Rimmer, Co-founder said, “There’s something for everyone at Hamilton Festival and it’s going to be a terrific day out with live music and entertainment for children.  We’re looking forward to showcasing our latest beers alongside the very best of Scottish craft brewing”.

The Merchant City Brewing Co. was set up by Allan Rimmer and Douglas Wheatley who have both worked and lived in the area for many years and are keen that their beers reflect the diversity and character of this vibrant area of the city.   The craft brewery currently produces a range of staple core styles and small batch feature brews.  Prices from £2.50 a bottle and are available from a wide range of Scottish stockists including Majestic Wines.
