English Heritage has raised the worrying spectre of the Great British Pud being in decline with only 2% of households making a daily homemade pudding and 62% rarely or never making them at all!

According to The English Heritage report, ‘Although classic treats like crumbles, pies and steam puddings remain popular they often find themselves gazumped by cold desserts and healthier options.’

Fortuitously Gnaw have been on the ‘pudding renaissance’ trail for a while, introducing last year a portable New York Cheesecake milk chocolate bar to accompany its high-flying Banoffee Pie, Sticky Toffee Pud and Gingerbread chocolate bar offerings.

According to Gnaw spokesperson, Josh Patterson, ‘We loved the thought of portable, pocket-sized pud-themed bars that could be shared with friends or family or saved for some all-important me-time.’

This Christmas sees the eagerly anticipated arrival of two new, Wonka-ful flavours

  • Apple Strudel: A delightfully spiced milk chocolate bar packed with biscuit, cinnamon, date and apple flavouring offers, whose Alpine authentic strudel-ness would have the whole von Trapp clan ‘climb every mountain, search high and low….’ *
  • Cherry & Almond Tart: a modern milk chocolatey twist on an 1800spuff pastry classic first baked at the White Horse Inn in Bakewell, made with almond, biscuit and zingy cherry flavouring.
